Suzanne M. Cohen, President

Managing Artistic Director Suzanne M. Cohen has performed, directed and worked on productions at theaters across the country, as well as internationally. She played Bonnie in the British Premiere of David Rabe's HURLYBURLY, and also appeared in the British Premiere of Sam Shepard's HAWK MOON. Among favorite productions she has directed are Wendy Kesselman's MY SISTER IN THIS HOUSE, BEIRUT by Alan Bowne, THE WOOLGATHERER by William Mastrosimone, the West Coast Premiere of MISSISSIPPI NUDE by John Reaves, and the British Premiere of David Mamet's REVENGE OF THE SPACE PANDAS.

Suzanne earned a BA in Humanities with an emphasis in Drama, and a minor in English/Creative Writing from University of Southern California. In 1998, she earned a Master of Not-for-Profit Leadership from Seattle University. Suzanne served two years as the President of the League of Fringe Theatres and was formerly the Board President for Seattle Scenic Studios. She is the Associate DIrector of Institutional Partnerships at ACT Theatre in Seattle.

In 2006, the Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas commissioned her to adapt Dr. Martin Luther King's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech into a stage presentation as part of Seattle Center's MLK Day Celebration. She is currently putting together THE TASHNUBA PROJECT: DISAPPEARED IN AMERICA, a multimedia stage presentation examining the ramifications of the Patriot Act on Civil rights and liberties and the larger societal implications for immigrants and non-immigrants in the United States today.
