A panel of local subject matter experts will illuminate common myths and misconceptions about gun control, detail the complexity of factors and challenges that complicate the issue, and share ideas how you can get involved and advocate for change. A light brunch will be served.

Larry Wechsler, MS, MBA, MHA is the current President of Washington CeaseFire. Larry moved to Seattle after getting his degree in aerospace engineering and has had successful careers in engineering, epidemiology, and management. As a Washington CeaseFire board member since 2014, Larry has advocated for common sense measures and legislation to reduce gun violence, participated in educational efforts related to gun safety, and helped organize commemorative events and vigils honoring past victims of gun violence. As a public health professional, Larry believes gun violence is an epidemic that requires investment in research and implementation of public health strategies to help mitigate the problem. Equally important, as a father of three school-age children, Larry shares the concerns of parents calling for safer schools and communities. Recently, Larry organized a 5K run/walk annual event to promote community awareness of gun violence.
