“This is a good organization doing important work”

Holding the Moment speakers series

What Is A Chief? How Native Values Can Teach Resilience” presented by John Halliday

“Grateful for the opportunity to hear this man’s stories, and experience his caring.”

“The presenter’s story helped me more fully understand the arrangement of Pacific Northwest and Interior American Indian peoples. Even without a map in view, I could identify names and locations for reference. I’m non-native, living proximate to both the Lummi and Nooksack nations, somewhat distant from the areas he discussed. I had not previously understood tribes as political and not biological organizations. His emphasis on care and caring is so welcome. I’ll recommend the recording.”
