For every Expand Upon project, Mirror Stage commissions two new one-act plays from local PNW writers based on a timely theme chosen by YOU. Plays are presented as simply staged readings with a moderated discussion following every performance.

Poignantly explores the personal choices we must make for our loved ones, often at a considerable financial and emotional cost. Follow four siblings as they play pretend with their ever ailing mother and take on more than anyone can carry. When tough decisions need to be made will they band together and support each other in their time of need, or will the pressure be too much for their family?

When a national emergency hits America we take a look at who sits in on decision-making meetings that shape public policies, and what motivates them. Will statistics and reasoning matter when power and self-preservation are at play?
